Teens

Pre Teen

IMG_1025These students are generally between the ages of 9-13 years old with between 2-6 years of dance experience. This level is often recommended to students who want to dance twice per week while allowing them to dance with peers their own age, with classes in Ballet, Tap and Jazz and an optional Modern class. Students will work towards two dance exams with the Performing Arts Educators of Canada to be examined in February/March and a parent performance in January and the annual June recital.

Teen

IMG_1099These students are generally between the ages of 11-14 years old with between 1-3 years of dance experience. This level is often recommended to students who want to dance twice per week while allowing them to dance with peers their own age, with classes in Ballet, Tap and Jazz and an optional Modern class. Students will work towards two dance exams with the Performing Arts Educators of Canada to be examined in February/March and a parent performance in January and the annual June recital. 

Teen Advanced

These students are generally between the ages of 14-17 years old with between 4+ years of dance experience. This level is often recommended to students who want to dance twice per week while allowing them to dance with peers their own age. This level offers two hours of ballet class, a one hour tap class, a one hour jazz class per week. Students will work towards two dance exams with the Performing Arts Educators of Canada to be examined in February/March and a parent performance in January and the annual June recital. 

Teen Contemporary

IMG_1011A one hour class designed for teens to introduce the contemporary and lyrical style of dance. Contemporary/Lyrical is one of the most common styles as seen on dance reality TV shows and a popular request among teens. A free movement style will be encouraged while learning basic terminology and technique.
