Intensive Training Program (ITP)

ITP Level 1 - 3.25 hrs per week

IMG_0888ITP level 1 students take 1 ballet class, 1 jazz class, and one tap class per week.  This level takes the Society of Russian Ballet (SRB) level 2 Ballet Examination and a Performance Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) Tap Examination.  Level 1 students also participate in our annual HRM School Tour production in January.

 

ITP Level 2 - 4.25+ hrs per week

IMG_0908ITP Level 2 students take 1 ballet class, 1 jazz class, 1 tap class and 1 technique class per week.  This level takes the Society of Russian ballet (SRB) level 3 Ballet Examination and a Performance Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) Jazz Examination.  The focus of the technique class is to continue to build strength and flexibility while improving on specific elements of the level 2 exam curriculum.

ITP Level 3 - 4.25+ hrs per week

IMG_0917ITP Level 3 students take 2 ballet classes, 1 jazz class, and 1 tap class per week. This level takes the Society of Russian ballet (SRB) level 4 Ballet Examination and a Performance Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) Tap or Jazz Examination. ITP Level 3 (and up) students are invited to audition for our ‘Maritime Dance Junior Elite’ Performance Team which rehearses an extra 1.5 hrs per week. ITP level 3 (and up) students are also permitted to take a modern class.

ITP Level 4 - 4.5+ hrs per week

IMG_0952ITP Level 4 students take 2 ballet classes, 1 jazz class, and 1 tap class per week. This level takes the Society of Russian ballet (SRB) level 5 Ballet Examination and a Performance Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) Tap Examination. ITP level 4 students have the option of adding a modern class to their schedule. Students in this level can begin assisting with younger classes in our Children’s Program.

ITP Level 5 - 5.5 hrs per week

IMG_1033ITP Level 5 students take 2 ballet classes, 1 jazz class, 1 tap class, and 1 modern class per week. This level takes a Performance Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) Tap Examination and a PAEC Jazz Examination. In ITP Level 5 modern is automatically added into the weekly class schedule. Students in this level are invited to audition for our Maritime Dance Elite group.

ITP Level 6 - 6.5 hrs per week

IMG_1135ITP Level 6 students take 2 ballet classes, 1 jazz class, 1 tap class, and 1 modern class per week. This level takes a Society of Russian Ballet level 6 Ballet Examination, a Performance Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) Tap Examination and a PAEC Jazz Examination. ITP Level 6 students are assessed for pointe shoes if they are enrolled in a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week. Students in this level are invited to audition for our Maritime Dance Senior Elite (MDSE) Performance Team which is a pre-professional dance company that focuses on contemporary, jazz, ballet, tap, and hip hop. MDSE rehearses on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

ITP Level 7 - 6.5+ hrs per week

IMG_1148ITP Level 7 students take 2 ballet classes, 1 jazz class, 1 tap class, and 1 modern class per week. This level takes a Society of Russian Ballet level 7 Ballet Examination, a Performance Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) Tap Examination and a PAEC Jazz Examination.  Students in this level are invited to audition for our Maritime Dance Senior Elite (MDSE) Performance Team which is a pre-professional dance company that focuses on contemporary, jazz, ballet, tap, and hip hop. ITP Pre-Elementary, Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced

IMG_1189Students in Pre-Elementary and higher continue with the examination process with the Society of Russian Ballet and the Performance Arts Educators of Canada. These students take 2-4 ballet classes per week along with jazz, tap, and modern classes. Students in these levels can be invited to take our Teacher Training Program and begin teaching in our Children’s Program after completion of the training course.
