Classes and Schedules
I
hope that your year is both educational and enjoyable. Our students
study from September until Christmas break and from early January to
the middle of June. In June they participate in our annual dance
recital at the Rebecca Cohn, Dalhousie
Arts Center.
 When children
progress to a second year level they perform throughout the year
raising money for various charities and performing for senior citizen
groups. We also participate in community events such as Christmas
Daddies and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The students are not
obligated to participate in any of these performances. However, by the
second year they are usually not as shy as they might have been the
first year and are quite anxious to become involved.
More advanced students are permitted to take C.D.T.A. (Canadian
Dance Teachers' Assoc.) and/or The Russian Syllabus dance exams. If
they start at an early age they can often obtain a degree in dance by
the time they finish high school. However, that is rushing things a bit
for now. Let's get through the first year and hopefully it will be a
year full of fun and fond memories!
