Children's Program

 

Parent and Tot (Ages 18-36 months) *Parent must accompany child

IMG_0882A 45 minute class for parents and their toddler ages 18-36 months. This inclusive multi-sensory class will guide parents and tots through movement, song, expression and dance. Develop motor skills, enhance brain development and encourage socialization. This fun filled class will have parents and tots moving and grooving! Parent participation is required.

 

New Preschool

IMG_0838A 50 minute combination class for 3 and 4 year olds in their first year of dance. Students will be introduced to tap, jazz and ballet each week while learning all about various types of music, movement, dance and mime. This level participates in our end of year June recital.

 

New Primary/Grade One

IMG_0831A one hour combination class for 5 and 6 year olds who are in grades primary or one in school and in their first year of dance. Students will be introduced to tap, jazz and ballet each week while learning about various types of music, movement, dance and mime. This class may also be recommended for students who have previous dance experience but may not have studied all three styles of dance. This level participates in our end of year June recital.

New Grades 2/3

IMG_0844A one hour and 15 minute combination class for 7-9 year olds who are in grades two and three in school and in their first year of dance. Students will be introduced to tap, jazz and ballet each week while learning about various types of music, movement, dance and mime. This class may also be recommended for students who have previous dance experience but may not have studied all three styles of dance. This level participates in our end of year June recital.

New Grades 4/6

IMG_0749A 1.5 hour combination class for 9-12 year olds who are in grades four, five and six in school and in their first year of dance. Students will be introduced to tap, jazz and ballet each week while learning about various types of music, movement, dance and mime. This class may also be recommended for students who have previous dance experience but may not have studied all three styles of dance. This level participates in our end of year June recital.

New Grades 7/9

IMG_0910A 1.5 hour combination class for 12-15 year olds who are in grades seven, eight and nine in school and in their first year of dance. Students will be introduced to tap, jazz and ballet each week while learning about various types of music, movement, and dance. This class may also be recommended for students who have previous dance experience but may not have studied all three styles of dance. This level participates in our end of year June recital and will continue into our Teen program completing the level.

Returning Dancer

IMG_0764A one hour combination class for 4 and 5 year olds in their second year of dance.  These dancers will have completed one full year of New Preschool. Students will continue to dance tap, jazz and ballet each week while working to improve their skills and technique. This level participates in a holiday performance in November/December at a local Senior Citizen’s home and the end of year June recital.

Preliminary 1 (P1)

IMG_0787A one hour and fifteen minute combination class for 5 and 6 year olds who will have already completed the Returning Dancer level. Students will continue to dance tap, jazz and ballet each week while working to improve their skills and technique. This level participates in a holiday performance in November/December at a local Senior Citizen’s home and the end of year June recital. Students will also be examined by the Performing Arts Educators of Canada in February by taking a short ballet exam.

Medal Combo (MC)

A one hour and fifteen minute combination class for 6 -8  year olds who will have already completed the Preliminary 1 level or have been assessed for this level. Students will continue to dance tap, jazz and ballet each week while working to improve their skills and technique. This level participates in a holiday performance in November/December at a local Senior Citizen’s home and the end of year June recital. Students will also be examined by the Performing Arts Educators of Canada in February by taking a short jazz exam.

Preliminary 2 (P2)

IMG_0645A 1.5 hour combination class for 7 -9 year olds who will have already completed the Medal Combo level or have been assessed for this level. Students will continue to dance tap, jazz and ballet each week while working to improve their skills and technique. This level participates in a holiday performance in November/December at a local Senior Citizen’s home and the end of year June recital. Students will also be examined by the Performing Arts Educators of Canada and the Society of Russian Ballet in February by taking a tap and a ballet exam.

Bronze Combo

IMG_0645A 1.5 hour combination class for 7 and 9 year olds. Students will continue to dance tap, jazz and ballet each week while working to improve their skills and technique. This level participates in a holiday performance in November/December at a local Senior Citizen’s home and the end of year June recital. Students will also be examined by the Performing Arts Educators of Canada and the Society of Russian Ballet in February by taking a tap and a ballet exam.

Preliminary 3 (P3)

IMG_0924A 1.5 hour combination class for 7 to 10 year olds who will have already completed the Preliminary 2 level or have been assessed for this level. Students will continue to dance tap, jazz and ballet each week while working to improve their skills and technique. This level participates in a holiday performance in November/December at a local Senior Citizen’s home and the end of year June recital. Students will also be examined by the Performing Arts Educators of Canada and the Society of Russian Ballet in February by taking a jazz and a ballet exam.

Preliminary 4 (P4)

IMG_0914Dancers will attend classes twice per week, taking a one hour ballet class and an hour and a half jazz/tap combination class. This level participates in a holiday performance in November/December at a local Senior Citizen’s home and the end of year June recital. Students will also be examined by the Performing Arts Educators of Canada in February or March, taking a ballet and tap exam.
